This Friday I turn 37 - an act that seems impossible for one as young as myself. I am getting married later this year. I am in the midst of a non-profit start-up. I have a lot happening, amidst a lot of change. In the past, I would have seen this as prime blogging material.

Instead, I want to take more walks in the park. I want to spend more time laughing with my friends, across a table from them, where we really laugh, and not just say LOL or ROFL, even though we really aren’t. I want less online presence. I want fewer outlets, so maybe I can focus the thoughts that well up within me, instead of just “throwing them out there”.

Here is what you can expect:

Hughlh.com has been the site of my personal blog, and is where you are reading this, if you are not reading it from RSS or via email. It will now be a simple brochure site or hub, where folks who are looking for me can find me. It will also (eventually) have information about how people can ask me to speak to their group and a list of where I will be speaking next. All of the existing blog posts (like this one) will still be there, but there will be no future blog updates. Sorry.

Hughlh.info was my catch-all site, but will shortly front for a tumble-log, where I might post the occasional short thought, quote or video that strikes my fancy. The occasional personal anecdote might slip in, but it will be very ad-hoc. There is no schedule, no pressure and no promises. It is pure personal whimsy. If you are reading this message via RSS or email, you will get my updates from this new site automagically, starting with the next post. If you choose not to stay subscribed, I understand - no hard feelings. God bless, and I hope all goes well for you.

I currently blog for my non-profit - nothing will change there, except hopefully it will happen with more regularaty and clarity.

I intend to publish more writings elsewhere regarding matters of faith and justice - if they have an online presence, I will link to them at Hughlh.info, for those who are interested.

I plan to still be active on Twitter, which I find I enjoy, and can fairly easily regulate. But, if it becomes a problem, I will drop it like a hot rock as well.

FaceBook, MySpace, etc… I will drop by from time to time, as I have old friends who find me there, but I have no plans to be in any way active. There will be no status updates, no “Which Care Bear are you” quizzes taken… none of that. My pages are still there, but for all intents and purposes, Hugh has left those buildings.
